Police: Riverhead Man Arrested For Selling Drugs Out of His Home

The residence where the drugs were sold was also home to seven children, police said.

A Riverhead man was arrested on Tuesday for selling drugs out of his home where seven children lived, according to Riverhead Town Police.

The East End Drug Task force, in cooperation with the Riverhead Town Police, executed a search warrant at 28 Oakland Drive North in Riverhead with assistance from the Riverhead Town Police C.O.P.E. and K-9 units and Suffolk County Emergency Services and K-9 Units, according to police.

The search was the result of an investigation into drug sales at that residence, police said.

Investigators recovered heroin, marijuana, scales, packaging materials and cash from the home, according to police.

Two shotguns were also removed from the residence for safekeeping and further investigation, cops said.

There were seven children in the residence ranging in age from two to fifteen years of age, officials said.

The resident of the home, William Moore, 32, was arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, three counts of second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia, and six counts of endangering the welfare of a child, according to police.
