Police: Riverhead Man Shuts Off Power, Tries to Break Into Allergy Clinic
The man was discovered to have an active parole warrant, police say.

A Riverhead man was arrested after shutting off the power and attempting to break into an allergy clinic in Riverhead on Monday, according to Riverhead Town Police.
Police responded to East End Allergy on 1149 Old Country Road after receiving a call that the power was out at that location, police said.
Police found that the power to the building had been manually shut off and the window screens in the back of the building had been removed, according to police.

Riverhead K9-2 who responded to the scene to assist, found a man identified as Joseph Reiter, 37, trying to leave the area, police said.
Reiter was discover to have an active parole warrant and was taken into custody, police said.

Riverhead Police Departments K9 unit conducted a search of the area, placing Reiter at the rear of the building as well as the electrical panel to the building, according to police.
Reiter was taken to Riverhead Police Department where he was charged with third degree attempted criminal trespass, police said.
