Police Searching For 13-Year-Old From Wading River

RIVERHEAD, NY — Police are searching for a 13-year-old who went missing from the Little Flower Children's Services facility in Wading River Tuesday.

According to Riverhead Town Police, Maria Mete is white, 5-feet, 1-inch, and weights 140 lbs.; she has a light complexion, black-and-blonde hair, and was last seen wearing a white jacket, a black Nike sweatshirt, black sneakers, and a multi-colored backpack, police said.

Maria was seen leaving in a vehicle, possibly a silver Jeep, traveling west on North Wading River Road; she has run away in the past and no foul play is suspected, police said.
