Police Seeking Man Who Used Counterfeit Money in Riverhead Area
The man used the fake money to buy items at a local gas station and local restaurants, police say.
Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and find the man who used counterfeit money at four different locations earlier this month.
A man used counterfeit $100 bills at a Calverton gas station and restaurants in Wading River and Riverhead on Oct. 1, police said.
The man purchased items with a low dollar amount and received change for his counterfeit bills, according to police.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
