This year’s commemoration will be particularly meaningful since it is the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks, which claimed the lives of 2,977 men, women and children at the World Trade Center in New York City, at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA and a farm
near Shanksville, PA, town officials said.
Riverhead Town Supervisor Yvette Aguiar said those in attendance will honor the memory of those who were lost, as well as the strength and courage of their families and friends.
