1. The site plan hearing to expand the Suffolk Theater's backstage and add mixed-use space to the rear of the building is set for April 5 at 2:05 p.m. According to RiverheadLOCAL, "Suffolk Theater co-owner Bob Castaldi said that the expansion will allow the theater to add 20 feet of depth to the stage and open the theater to new types of performances." 2. Donors sought to help with the current blood shortage at the Stony Brook Hospital Blood Bank. It only takes 45 minutes — from paperwork to juice and cookies — to donate whole blood, and every donation is used to treat a Stony Brook University Hospital patient. Convenient hours are available Monday through Saturday. Walk-ins are welcome, but on weekends, holidays, before 8 a.m. and after 4 p.m. on weekdays, please call 631-444-2634 as hours may vary.
