Riverhead Man Charged With Assault: Police

The incident took place in Riverhead Thursday, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A Riverhead man was arrested and charged with assault after in incident on Roanoke Avenue Thursday, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, at 10:34 a.m., a call came in regarding an assault. Police arrived and found a man with a laceration to his head; he was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Arthur B. Evans, 54, was arrested and charged with one count of second-degree assault, a felony, police said. He was held for arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court.
