RIVERHEAD, NY — July 4th is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you this Independence Day. We gathered up all the fireworks shows, parades and festivals happening in and around the North Fork so you can start planning now.

Here's what's in store this July 4th on the North Fork and nearby:

Greenport Fire Department's annual Phenix Hook & Ladder Co. and Relief Hose Co. Carnival

- Polo Grounds on Moores Lane

- Through July 6; fireworks on July 4 and July 6.

Southold Village Merchants' Fourth of July Parade

- Kicks off on Main Road in Southold and wends its way from Boisseau Avenue to Tuckers Lane in a burst of patriotic red, white and blue.

- July 4 at noon.

The New Suffolk Civic Association Parade

- Kicks off at the intersection of New Suffolk and Tuttle Roads.

- 11 a.m. on July 4.

Orient Harbor Independence Day Fireworks

- Orient Harbor

- July 6, 9:15 p.m.

Auxiliary Family Festival

- 6164 Route 25A in Wading River.

Shelter Island Fireworks
