Search On For LI Hit-And-Run Driver That Left Pedestrian Hurt: Police

The incident took place in September, police say.

SHOREHAM, NY — The search is on for the driver who left the scene of a crash that injured a pedestrian in Shoreham in September, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Seventh Precinct officers said a pedestrian was struck by a dark blue or black four-door late model BMW sedan that was heading east in front of 52 Route 25A on September 17 at 10:38 p.m.

The driver pulled over, exited his car, then returned to the vehicle and fled east on Route 25A toward the William Floyd Parkway, police said.

The man is described as a black, in his 30s, and about 5-feet, 9-inches tall with a medium build, police said.
