Search On for Suspects In Armed Robbery Who Attacked Victim: Police

RIVERHEAD, NY - The search is on for armed robbers who attacked a victim in Riverhead Tuesday, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, a report came in Wednesday at 7:20 p.m. about a prior armed robbery that occurred on Tuesday near Railroad Avenue in Riverhead.

A male victim was approached by three to four individuals, unknown to the victim, who demanded money; during the encounter, the victim was physically attacked and was cut by an unknown instrument, police said.

The victim was able to run from the suspects and return to his residence; the next day, a friend of the victim took him to Peconic Bay Medical Center for medical attention, police said.

The victim sustained serious injuries and was transported to another health care facility for treatment, police said.
