Teen Charged With Robbing LI Rideshare Driver At Gunpoint: Police
He robbed the driver at gunpoint and stole his vehicle by force, police say. The search continues for two other individuals.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A 15-year-old male was arrested and charged in connection with the gunpoint robbery of a rideshare driver in Wading River last week, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, on April 13, the rideshare driver was robbed at gunpoint and had his vehicle stolen from him by force. On April 18, the teen was taken into custody and charged with first-degree robbery; he was transported for arraignment purposes to Suffolk County Court -Youth Part, police said.
Police said last week that three people assaulted and forcefully removed the driver from the vehicle; two displayed handguns during the robbery, police said. The search continues for the other two individuals, police said Wednesday.
