Thief Stole 40-Inch TV From Walmart: Cops

RIVERHEAD, NY — A man made off with a 40-inch TV from Walmart in Riverhead recently, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Riverhead Police Department are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate a man who stole from the Walmart in Riverhead last month, police said.

On March 16 at approximately 10:15 p.m., a man stole a 40-inch television from Walmart, located at 1890 Old Country Road, police said.

The suspect was described as a white stocky male who was wearing a black hat, white long sleeve shirt and blue jeans, police said.

The man left the store without paying for the television, valued at $448, and fled in an unknown direction, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
