Vacant Residence Burglarized In Riverhead: PD
The basement window was broken and the back door was open, police say.
RIVERHEAD, NY — A vacant Riverhead residence undergoing extensive renovations was burglarized Friday night, police said.
According to Riverhead Town police, officers responded at 10 a.m. Saturday to a West Main Street address after a report of a burglary. A construction employee at the location reported leaving on Friday at about 5:30 p.m. and returning on Saturday at about 10 a.m., police said. A rear basement window was found broken and the back door open; officials believe the burglar entered through the back and left through the front, police said.
It was not immediately clear how much was stolen, police said.
