Victim Assaulted and Robbed by 3 Men on LIRR Tracks in Riverhead: Police
After stealing $20 and a backpack, the assailants fled on foot and have not yet been apprehended, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY - A man was assaulted and robbed on the railroad tracks in Riverhead Wednesday night, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place at 7:45 p.m. on the Long Island Rail Road tracks between the rear of the Department of Social Services building and the East Main Street crossing at Riverside Drive.
The victim, a hispanic man, 22, reported he'd been robbed and assaulted by three black men, police said.

The three assailants stole $20 in cash and a backpack and fled on foot, police said; they have not been located.
The victim was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center treated and released, police said.
