Woman Charged In Tanger Robbery: Police

She punched two employees at Charlotte Russe before fleeing the scene in April, police say.

RIVERHEAD, NY — A woman has been charged in a robbery at Tanger during which two employees were punched, police said.

Lakea Staton, 26, of Riverhead, was arrested on Thursday and charged with third degree robbery in relation to the incident on April 28, according to Riverhead Police detectives.

The robbery occurred at Charlotte Russe in the Tanger Outlets on West Main Street, when Staton "forcibly stole property," punching the employees, getting into a vehicle, and fleeing the area before authorities arrived at the scene, police said.

The Riverhead Police Department Detective Division conducted an investigation which led to Staton's arrest; she was processed and held for arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court, police said.
