Woman Stabs Sister During Riverhead Dispute: Police
BREAKING: A weapon at the scene is believed to have been used in the stabbing, police said.

RIVERHEAD, NY —A woman was charged with stabbing her sister in Riverhead last month, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, the incident took place on Saturday, July 16 at 9:55 p.m., when a domestic dispute at a West Main Street residence was reported.
Two women were involved in a dispute and one woman was stabbed, police said.

Upon arrival, patrol units found both women; the victim, 27, was stabbed by her sister, Nicole Romero, 25, police said.
Romero was arrested and charged with first degree assault, a felony, and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor, police said.

An investigation was conducted at the scene and the weapon believed to be used was recovered within the home, police said.
Romero was transported to the Riverhead Police Department; she was processed and held for arraignment, police said.
The victim was treated at the scene by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps and transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of her injuries, which were non-life threatening, police said.
