Woman Trapped In Vehicle, Airlifted After Crash: Police
A woman sustained a serious neck injury in the crash, which took place Monday afternoon in Aquebogue, police say.

AQUEBOGUE, NY — A Mattituck woman was airlifted after a crash in Aquebogue Monday, police said.
According to Riverhead Town Police, the crash took place at 4:06 p.m. on Sound Avenue near Phillips Lane. Kimbell Miller was traveling east on Sound Avenue in a 2015 Honda CR-V when, for an unknown reason, she entered the westbound lane and struck a 2005 Ford F350 pickup driven by Elder Perez of Riverhead, who had been heading west, police said.
Riverhead Town Volunteer Ambulance Corps was notified and responded to the scene, police said.

Miller was trapped in her vehicle and the Riverhead Volunteer Fire Department helped to extricate her; she was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital by Suffolk County Police Aviation for treatment of a serious neck injury, police said.
Perez was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.
