Dobbs Ferry Man Faces Child Porn Charges

The Westchester DA says he possessed and shared computer files containing obscene, illegal sexual performances by children.

A Dobbs Ferry man accused of possessing and sharing sexual performances of children was charged today with:

  • one count of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “D” Felony,
  • one count of Possessing an Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child, a class “E” Felony

Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore announced that Jason Alexander of 42 Bellair Drive possessed and shared digital files of illegal and obscene performances of sexual conduct by children less than 17 years old.

According to her press release, an investigator from the Westchester County DA’s Office downloaded child pornography from an IP (internet protocol) address in Westchester County on July 24. The investigation began, and pursuant to a subpoena, it was determined that the IP address was assigned to Alexander’s home.

A search warrant was subsequently executed at his home address. A forensic examination of computers and external hard drives removed from the location revealed digital files of children younger than 16 engaged in child pornography.

Alexander, 51, was arraigned in Dobbs Ferry Village Court. Bail was set at $10,000 cash. His next court date is Nov. 19.

If convicted on the charges, he faces a maximum sentence of seven years in state prison.

Assistant District Attorney Laura Forbes of the High Technology Crime Bureau is prosecuting the case.
