Dobbs Ferry Tree-Lighting Ceremony and Eagles Parade

On Saturday, December 3, Dobbs Ferry will celebrate its annual tree lighting event.  At  5:00, the Mayor and other Village officials will flip the switch lighting the tree at the corner of  Main Street and Cedar Street, as well as the lights on the street trees throughout the downtown.

Leading up to that event during the day, there will be other activities to bring people to the downtown. Local stores will be offering specials throughout the day:

  • will be offering its classic hot chocolate.
  • and will have lunch and dinner specials, as will other downtown restaurants.

  • has everything you need including lights and decorations to bring the season into your home.

Dobbs Ferry’s local stores and businesses provide a great environment within which to do your holiday shopping, as well as get into the spirit of the season.

Santa plans to be on Cedar Street near the Broadway end beginning at around 3:00. He wants to hear what the good girls and boys have been doing this year, but particularly wants to talk with kids who may not have done everything that they were supposed to or may have  misbehaved.


Groups of carolers will be strolling through the downtown beginning at around 3:30 and they will all convene at the tree for the lighting event, after which everyone will be encouraged to sing carols together.

Special this year will be a parade by the victorious Varsity Football team, who will join everyone at the tree for the lighting.

After the tree-lighting festivities, everyone will be invited back to the Main Street Firehouse for hot chocolate, cookies, and coffee. During the evening, all of the restaurants will be continuing the spirit of holiday cheer.
