The Fourth Annual Jazz Concert with a theme of “Songs and Strings.”
This concert celebrates 28 years of hospice services provided to more than 3000 patients and families in our community. Performers are jazz vocalists of terrific accomplishment, backed up by a rhythm section, plus cello and violin. Sheila Anderson, the “Queen of Hang” and DJ at WGBO Radio, will be the emcee.

Singer Melissa Walker has performed all over the world with major jazz musicians, such as Ray Brown, Christian McBride, Hank Jones and many others. Her third CD was nominated for a Juno in her native Canada and she has appeared in all major jazz clubs. Melissa expands on the tradition of Carmen McRae and Betty Carter with new arrangements of standards and original music.
Tessa Souter is an intelligent, elegant singer who has also sung all over the world and performed with major players. She brings her intimate and engaging personal style to everything she does. The two vocalists will be accompanied by a world class group of entertaining and accomplished musicians.
