The Herreshoff is a love story about a couple who face a crisis in their marriage when the wife’s old boyfriend arrives with a Herreshoff designed sail boat.  The love triangle that arises is full of passion, regret and lies.  Secrets and emotions are masked in sailing metaphors and only in the end do we see the true character of each player.

Nat Herreshoff designed many work and sailing boats at his yard in Bristol, Rhode Island, in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.  Still revered today, a Herreshoff, any Herreshoff, is a prize possession for lovers of wooden boats.  Their beauty, design and workmanship are awe-inspiring.

Adelma  Park is a playwright and author of The Herreshoff. She has also written Inherit the Roses,  Peggy, Bunny’s ParadePerfect ShellNanny,  Venetian Parrot,  “Talk Between The Holes”, “Greasy Days Gone”  and  “Heavenly Flowers”.   She wrote the book and lyrics for Honey Bee Tales and Bubbleville.   She is a member of Supporting Characters, The Dramatists Guild, The Broadway League,  Theatre Resources Unlimited and ASCAP.
