Westchester Symphonic Winds Fall Concert, “World’s Fair”

The Westchester Symphonic Winds kicks off its 24th season with its “World’s Fair” concert on Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 3:00 pm. This performance will feature music from five continents and conclude with the annual tribute to all branches of the United States Armed Forces. Guest conductor, Joe Greco, will conduct Elsa’s Procession to the Cathedral byRichard Wagner. The guest soloist is Rick Henly, trumpet, who will perform La Virgen de la Macarena (the Matador Song) and Trumpet Nocturne, by Richard Maltby. Rick is a seasoned Broadway musician, and has performed as a guest artist with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. All US Veterans & Service Personnel are admitted to this program free of charge! Please wear your uniform or service related attire for free admission.

Also featured on this program are American Overture for Band by Joseph Wilcox Jenkins; Colonial Song by Percy Aldridge Grainger;  Strange Humors by John Mackey; Scenes from “The Louvre” by Norman Dello Joio; Procession of the Nobles by Nicolai Rimsky-Korsakov; Symphonic Dance #3 (“Fiesta”) by Clifton Williams; and World’s Fair March by Alfredo Antonini.

Tickets to this concert can be purchased in advance at tickets.tarrytownmusichall.org or at the door. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. Children under 10 are admitted free.
