Westchester Symphonic Winds Holiday Concert with Chrysalis Consort

The Westchester Symphonic Winds will play its first Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 5, 2010. The program will feature works for both ensembles individually as well as works performed jointly.

Featured in the WSW program are A Christmas Festival by Leroy Anderson; The Eighth Candle by Steve Reisteter; and Russian Christmas Music by Alfred Reed. Members of the brass section will collaborate with Chrysalis Consort to perform the Christmas Cantata by Daniel Pinkham, and the full band will combine with Chrysalis to perform When In Our Music by Travis J. Cross. Seasonal carols will be played by the brass section, and the concert will conclude with an audience holiday sing-a-long finale!

In addition to the combined works, the Chrysalis Consort program will feature Quatre Motets sur des themes grégoriens by Maurice Duruflé.

This is the first joint concert produced during Mr. Ebersole's tenure as Conductor/Music Director. It represents the ensemble's commitment to foster the arts in Westchester County and to engender the spirit of camaraderie among performing instrumentalists and vocalists in our area.

Tickets to this concert can be purchased in advance from www.seatyourself.biz/westchestersymphonicwinds or at the door. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors and students. Children under 10 are admitted free.
