Family-Run American Restaurant Coming to Dobbs Ferry
Cedar Street Grill is coming soon to to Dobbs Ferry, replacing Mykonos on Cedar Street.

When was the last time you had homemade cheddar cheese biscuits, fried pickles or cornmeal-crusted fried green tomatoes in Westchester? Probably not recently.
Cedar Street Grill is coming soon to downtown Dobbs Ferry—replacing Mykonos at 23 Cedar Street—and its menu will include all the American staples with a little Southern flare.
"Our motto is 'simplicity is excellence,'" said Executive Chef Matt Kay. "We want to make this restaurant accommodate the everyday family."

Cedar Street Grill is owned by Dobbs Ferry Deputy Mayor Catherine Kay, Matt's mother, and will be managed by the chef's brother Joe. After getting his degree from the Art Institute of New York, Kay served as the executive chef at Blue in White Plains.
Kay will buy as much of his produce and meats from local farms as possible and serve only American beers—from places like Brooklyn Brewery and Captain Lawrence.

Kay and his sous-chef Steve Lopin both grew up in Dobbs Ferry and are thrilled to have a such a prominent space in their hometown.
"If we don't like something, we won't serve it at this restaurant," said Lopin, who graduated from the Culinary Institute of America and cooked most recently at the .
"We were tired of making only the most intricate and fancy dishes," Lopin said.
"This is will be straight-up comfort food," Kay added. "Still with a nice presentation and the freshest ingredients—but with a huge bang for your buck."
