'The Girl on the Train' Continues Filming in the Rivertowns

The movie version of the popular book has been filming in the area throughout the fall.

The Dreamworks production, “The Girl on the Train,” is continuing filming this week in the Rivertowns, according to Irvington village officials.

The suspense film, starring Emily Blunt, Jared Leto, Rebecca Ferguson and Justin Theroux, has been filming in the area at various times throughout the fall.

Irvington officials released the following schedule for Wednesday’s filming. Parking and travel through these area might be impacted throughout the day.

To help discourage travel to the immediate area, the Irvington Public Library said it will waive late fees for any materials are due on Wednesday if they are returned on Thursday after filming has completed.

IRVINGTON WOODS (adjacent to Irvington Reservoir)

The trails parking lot will be unavailable for use Wednesday, December 16th. Irvington Police will be on site to facilitate this.

O’HARA NATURE CENTER

The O’Hara Nature Center parking lot will be unavailable on Wednesday, December 16th.

VILLAGE HALL

On Wednesday, December 16th, there will be no access to the Clerk’s office, the Administrator’s office, the Building Department, or the Tiffany Room. Clerk’s office staff will be available in the Court Room during business hours. Access to the Justice Court, Town Hall Theater, and Police Department will be unaffected by the filming operations.

LIBRARY

On Wednesday, December 16th, there will be limited parking available in the vicinity of the Library. The Library will be open for its regular hours until 5PM, however, patrons are urged to use avoid driving or parking in the area.
