Home town: Rivertowns

Hero's job: Fire/emergency response

Relationship to nominee: Through Piermont Civic Association , Piermont Water Alliance, Piermont Fire Department and the Piermont Food Pantry which he started for Piermont and all surrounding villages.

Reason for recognition: Nate came up with the food pantry idea after residents lost food and had house/apartment damages from the Isaias storm which hit Aug. 4. In addition to villagers already struggling with loss of income from COVID-19. Our free food is now for anyone.

One thing to know: Nate is extremely humble. He’s already volunteering with three groups, and yet he started a food pantry due to a need he saw. He’s dedicated so much free time to this project. Yet, he expects no thanks and keeps on giving.

Thank you for all you do, Nathan Mitchell!
