HOA Suing State AG Over Condo Conversion

The change in tax status could mean savings for homeowners.

DOBBS FERRY, NY — A residential complex has sued the state attorney general over allegedly stifling the community's desire to change from a single-family-home community to condominiums.

The Landing at Dobbs Ferry filed a lawsuit Aug. 20 in state Supreme Court hoping to change its tax status to condos which would result in about a 40 percent property tax savings for the owners, the Journal News said.

The same law firm that got Fairway Green Condominiums in Mamaroneck through a similar situation was engaged by the Landing.
