Irvington School District Technology Director Earns Leader Designation

Additional training is required to maintain the designation.

IRVINGTON, NY — Jesse Lubinsky, Irvington Union Free School District’s director of technology and chief information officer, has earned the Certified Education Technology Leader designation.

The CETL certification, which is awarded by the Consortium for School Networking after passing a rigorous exam, signifies that Lubinsky has mastered the knowledge and skills needed to bring 21st century technology into the K-12 school system, according to a district spokesman.

“Jesse's commitment to technology education and advancing its integration in our schools is quite impressive,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kristopher Harrison said. “His creativity and passion for technology has had positive impacts on every student in the Irvington schools.”

Lubinsky earned the certification by demonstrating experience in the education technology field and passing a comprehensive two-part examination. He must also complete 60 hours of professional development activities every three years to maintain the designation, the spokesman said.

Founded in 1992, the Consortium for School Networking’s mission is to empower educational leaders to leverage technology to realize engaging learning environments and it provides leadership and tools that are essential for their success.
