Flat World Knowledge ranks number-one among textbook distributors in online survey
In a world dominated by ebooks and ipads, it's worth noting that Irvington publisher Flat World Knowledge has held its own, recently earning the title of "most affordable textbook provider" in an online survey conducted by Edudation-Portal.com.
This fall, website conducted its first-ever Education Resources 'People's Choice Awards' to highlight the best tools for saving students time and money.
Flat World Knowledge was the number-one choice of readers, who were asked where they saved the most money on textbooks.

Flat World publishes its authors’ works under a Creative Commons (CC BY-NC-SA) open license, which allows students to read online for free or buy low-cost digital or print formats. Instructors are free to tailor Flat World content to fit their syllabi and learning objectives with the MIYO (Make It Your Own) online editing platform.
Students who want the option to read anytime, anywhere, on any device can purchase the All-Access Pass. For $30, students get lifetime access to their Flat World textbook and interactive study aids in a suite of digital formats: online reader; e-book for an iPad, Kindle or other e-reader; print-it-yourself PDF; and audiobook for an iPod or MP3 player. Low-cost print options are also available. Flat World’s content is free of digital rights management (DRM) restrictions and never expires.
More than 300,000 students at 2,000+ colleges and universities are expected to use Flat World textbooks for the 2011/2012 school year.
