Rivertowns Biz Snippets: V-Day Cards, Treats and Trinkets at Say Cheese & Thank You

Dobbs Ferry specialty store is a virtual mecca of inexpensive Valentine's Day goodies.

From lip-shaped lip balm to mushy and saucy cards, they have it all—

"Our whole idea now is lowering the price point," said General Manager Jo Turpin, who does all the buying with owner

Say Cheese & Thank You recently moved from Irvington to the bottom of Main Street in Dobbs Ferry; and with the shift in location came a shift in strategy, which Turpin says is working.

"We're really trying to make everything affordable," Turpin said, pointing out that nearly everything on their impressive Valentine's Day display table is under $20, most less than $10.

There are heart-shaped measuring cups and spatulas—perfect for flipping heart-shaped pancakes on V-Day—and cookies and candies individually-wrapped for the occasion. 

And of course there are lots of cards—

Some of the mushy and mawkish variety...and others are more comical and racy (all in a tasteful way). You know which type your partner will appreciate more; everyone's different. 

Employee Bret Bucci says she's "obsessed with everything in the store."

But her ideal Valentine's Day gift would come from the jewelry case.
