Save the Date: Road To Freedom Walk is Aug. 9
The 10th annual event in Dobbs Ferry commemorates the beginning of the end of the Revolutionary War.

In August 1781, General George Washington’s army—camped in Ardsley and Dobbs Ferry—started a march along what is now Ashford Avenue, continued to what is now Broadway, crossed the Hudson River....and marched to Virginia where they defeated the British army under Cornwalis.
The Village of Dobbs Ferry and the Dobbs Ferry Historical Society co-sponsor the annual Road to Freedom Walk. This year it’s set for Aug. 9.
Mayor Hartley Connett will be issuing a proclamation, and Village Historian Richard Borkow will be having a banner hung at the corner of Cedar and Main streets, according to the agenda from the July 14 village board meeting.
