Solar Panels Under Consideration in Dobbs Ferry
Dobbs Ferry's Board of Trustees will consider awarding a bid Tuesday for solar panels to be installed on the library and DPW buildings.
Dobbs Ferry's Board of Trustees will consider awarding a bid for solar panels to be installed on the village and buildings at their 7:30 p.m. meeting on Tuesday.
"The price came in at less than we'd anticipated," said Village Administrator Marcus Serrano; "So I expect that they will award it—I hope they will."
Serrano said the village would be responsible for paying only 14 cents on every dollar spent on the project, and that the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) would pay the rest.

"The village energy task force and village engineer Jim Dolan have been instrumental in this process," Serrano said.
At Tuesday's meeting the village board will also hear a presentation from on a proposal to replace Brothers Market, Off Broadway and G&L Delicatessen. They will most likely pass the proposal onto the planning board for site-plan review.

"We don't have a choice in this matter," said Mayor Hartley Connett on Saturday. "It's up to the owner of the building. All we can do is oversee the application process and make sure the review process is being administered properly."
There will also be a public hearing on changes to the Dobbs Ferry Zoning Code, as recommended by the land use committee. Dobbs Ferry's zoning code and vision plan were approved by the board last summer. Read about the documents on Patch.
