Spicing Workshop Sunday in Dobbs Ferry

Writing: "Spice up your life" is such a cliche, it pains me to use it; but in this context, it's kind of unavoidable. 

Maybe we'll start again by saying: "Spice up your spicing repertoire." 

Spice Revolution—a new spice and chocolate shop on Cedar Street in Dobbs Ferry—is hosting an hour-long presentation on 15 different spices Sunday, including three types of cinnamon and variations of a few other spices.

"We discuss the medicinal qualities as well as flavor profiles and tastes of all the spices, and participants will see two simple demonstrations," said store owner Lindsay Fastiggi.

Everyone who takes the class will receive a spice info sheet and a tiny notebook; at the end of the workshop, everyone will get a sample of each spice to take home and 20 spice recipes, with both sweet and savory ways to use each spice.

The class is $42. It begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
