Updated: Hastings Man, 63, Killed in Bicycle Crash

Hastings' David Vaillancourt, 63, was killed in an automobile crash while riding his bicycle on Ravensdale Road in Hastings Wednesday, Hastings police said.

On Wednesday at approximately 5:30 p.m., Hastings police received numerous calls reporting an auto accident involving a bicyclist on Ravensdale Road at Stanley Avenue.

According to police, officers responded and reported the male bicyclist had serious injuries. 

The Hastings Volunteer Ambulance Corps. responded along with the Greenburgh Paramedic and the man was transported to St. Johns Riverside Hospital.

At 6:43 p.m, the male bicyclist was pronounced dead.

The Greenburgh Police Accident Investigation Team is assisting Hastings police with the investigation.

At this time no charges are pending against the driver, police said.
