Verdict In Peter Martins Impaired Driving Trial

Martins is the former head of the New York City Ballet.

ARDSLEY, NY — The former head of the New York City Ballet was found guilty of driving while ability impaired and backing unsafely, violations. A bench trial by Ardsley Village Justice David Rifas convicted Peter Martins of the reduced charge.

The 71-year-old resident of Irvington was fined $550, the Journal News said.

The charges stemmed from a Dec. 29 arrest after a three-car crash.

Martins took a leave of absence form the New York City Ballet in 2017 after multiple dancers accused him of sexual harassment and physical and verbal abuse.
