View Preservation Vote on Hastings Board Agenda Aug. 5

The only board meeting in August has been postponed from Tuesday.

The Hastings-on-Hudson village board meeting will be held Aug. 5 so that the trustees will form a quorum.

Mayor Peter Swiderski announced the change in a note on the village’s website.

The meeting agenda includes a vote to re-enact a local law for a waiver system for the village’s view preservation rules. The proposed amendment says:

View Preservation approval shall not be required where the Building Inspector determines that the erection or exterior alteration will have no negative effect on the view of the Hudson River and the Palisades for neighboring properties and adjacent public property and rights-of-way, and that determination is confirmed both by the Chairperson of the Planning Board, or another Planning Board member designated by the Chairperson, and by the Chairperson of the Zoning Board of Appeals, or another member designated by the ZBA Chairperson.

The meeting is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building.
