WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING FRIDAY, JANUARY 28, 2022 TO 7 PM EST SATURDAY, JANUARY 29, 2022 A major winter storm will bring a moderate to heavy snowfall and strong winds to much of the area tonight into Saturday. Blizzard to near-Blizzard conditions, and frigid temps are expected across much of the region Tonight thru Saturday, with difficult to impossible travel conditions. * WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 7 to 10 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. Near blizzard conditions are possible for a period on Saturday.* WHERE...Portions of northeast New Jersey, southern Connecticut and southeast New York.* WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 7 PM EST Saturday.* IMPACTS...Travel will become be very difficult. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.PLEASE REMOVE VEHICLES FROM PUBLIC STREETS WHENEVER POSSIBLE. During a snow emergency no vehicle may be operated on any of the streets listed below unless such vehicle is four-wheel or all-wheel drive or properly equipped with snow tires, all-weather tires, or chains:A.
