Grammy-Award winning Blood, Sweat &amp; Tears is the first band to use a horn section fused with rock, jazz and blues. BS&amp;T’s legendary performances range from Woodstock 1969 to the first band to tour behind the former Iron Curtain, to Woodstock 2019. The self-titled, Grammy Album of The Year album topped the charts for seven weeks, yielding three Top 5 singles: “You’ve Made Me So Very Happy”, “Spinning Wheel” and “And When I Die”.
The album went onto quadruple platinum status and BS&amp;T have never stopped touring. Founding drummer Bobby Colomby handpicks every band member and is proud of the fact that over the past 50 years the majority of musicians that have passed through BS&amp;T have gone on to fame as players, producers, arrangers and solo performers more than any other band on the planet. Who is Kevin Wimmer? One of the most revered fiddlers out of Louisiana today ... for years with Steve Riley &amp; the Mamou Playboys. Ever since meeting Dewey Balfa 32 years ago, Cajun fiddle has been Kevin’s passion. Ruben Moreno – a proud young Creole- Tejano Zydeco artist born and raised in Houston, Texas. Dynamic Youthful Energy. Hot ~ Sizzlin Hot … Locked down dance groove … A new breed of Zydeco artist taking the form to whole new levels. Ruben has started his very own “Zydeco RE-Evolution” and is sharing it with the world.
Ruben is a dynamic steward of this generation of Zydeco musicians, balancing fundamental respect for the traditional sounds and dance grooves … with a willingness to take Zydeco in fresh directions absorbing rhythmic and melodic edges from the cultures and generations he’s immersed in.&nbsp; Over the past two decades Ruben has set the world on fire with his melodic voice, his skills as one of the world’s finest rubboard players and as a uniquely innovative Zydeco performer.
Ruben has been immersed in music his WHOLE life starting with his father’s Chicano lineage, rich with Grammy Winning Tejano artists. A child prodigy, he learned to play percussion by 8 and the accordion by age of 11. Yet it was his mother’s Creole lineage which had the gravitational pull that drew him up on stage playing scrubboard with his uncle, Leroy Thomas and the Zydeco Roadrunners.
A veteran of the musical road, he began playing in clubs at age 13, and by age 15 he hit the road, never looking back, playing professionally with his uncle Leroy Thomas, Grammy nominated Zydeco artist and crowned Prince of Zydeco … CJ Chenier, and finally Andre Thierry ... his musical idol and mentor in the San Francisco Bay area, having toured all over North America, Central America, and Europe.
