City Of Rochester Spray Parks Open For Season

While spray parks will be open daily from noon – 6 p.m., restrictions regarding capacity have been put in place.

The Department of Recreation and Youth Services (DRYS) today announced that City of Rochester spray parks will open for the summer season on Saturday June 20, 2020. The spray parks, which are located at various parks and R-Centers throughout the city, normally open each year on Memorial Day. However, this year’s opening was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

While spray parks will be open daily from noon – 6 p.m., restrictions regarding capacity have been put in place for health and safety reasons and will be posted at each location. The following spray locations will be open with restrictions:

• Carter Street R-Center, 500 Carter St.

• Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial Park, 25 Manhattan Square Dr.

• David F. Gantt R-Center, 700 North St.

• Edgerton R-Center, 41 Backus St.

• Humboldt R-Center, 1045 Atlantic Ave.

• Roxie Ann Sinkler R-Center, 75 Grover St.

• Thomas P. Ryan R-Center, 530 Webster Ave.

• Tyshaun Cauldwell R-Center for Hope, 524 Campbell St.

Spray features at the following locations are currently under construction, with completion anticipated to occur this summer. Specific re-opening dates will be announced at a later time:

• Fourth and Peck Playground, corner of Fourth and Peck Streets

• Troup Street Park, corner of Troup and Van Auker Streets
