New Fall Leaf Collection Schedule Begins Monday

Leaves may also be bagged for collection on residents' regular refuse collection days.

From the City of Rochester: Services crews will collect leaves from city streets starting next Monday, Nov. 4. The leaf collection schedule begins one week later than in previous years, and leaves will be collected over 3 weeks. Week 1 residents are asked to rake loose leaves into a pile between the sidewalk and the curb by 7 a.m. Monday. Week 1 includes most neighborhoods in the Southwest quadrant, along with parts of the Southeast quadrant.

Residents can view the leaf pickup schedule for their address by using a new interactive map at www.cityofrochester.gov/leaves. The collection schedule is also in the city’s At Your Service Guide mailed to city homes. To ensure the most efficient collection of leaves, residents are asked to rake loose leaves into a pile between the sidewalk and the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday of their scheduled collection week.

Leaves may also be bagged for collection on residents’ regular refuse collection days. Loose leaves can also be dropped off at Ferrano and Colfax Streets. It is dangerous, and therefore illegal to rake leaves into the street.
