News Release - Mayor Warren Announces First Annual Play In Nature Event In City Of Rochester
The event will be held on the future site of the Maplewood Nature Center, which is currently in the planning and development phase.

(Friday, July 23, 2021) - Mayor Lovely A. Warren today announced that the first annual Play in Nature event will take place 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday, July 25 at Lower Maplewood Park, 107 Bridgeview Drive. The event will be held on the future site of the Maplewood Nature Center, which is currently in the planning and development phase.

The Play in Nature event will feature informational tabling by local nature-based organizations to help inform families of the different ways to enjoy and explore the local outdoors. The event will also have free nature crafts and games, guided walks for children and families, food for purchase,
nature related giveaways and more.
In relation to the development of the Maplewood Nature Center, the City recently adopted the Rochester Children’s Outdoor Bill of Rights (COBOR), a community informed list of nature based activities that every child should have the opportunity to explore.
