Mayor Lovely A. Warren today announced that City Department of Environmental Services crews will collect leaves from city streets Monday, Nov. 4 through Friday, Nov. 22

“We’ve decided to begin our leaf pickup operations one week later than usual and to complete the work in shorter time period than in previous years,” said Mayor Warren. “We’re adapting to our changing weather patterns to provide better service to our residents.”

Residents can view the leaf pickup schedule for their address by using a new interactive map at www.cityofrochester.gov/leaves. The collection schedule is also in the City’s At Your Service Guide mailed to city homes last week.

To ensure the most efficient collection of leaves, residents are asked to rake loose leaves into a pile between the sidewalk and the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday of their scheduled collection week.

Leaves may also be bagged for collection on residents’ regular refuse collection days. Loose leaves can also be dropped off at Ferrano and Colfax Streets. It is dangerous, and therefore illegal to rake leaves into the street.

Residents may call 311 for more information.
