The Council asked that leaders in Washington ensure an adequate supply of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) by instituting a national supply chain and utilizing the Defense Production Act. “As our communities enter the reopening phases, the Council believes it is crucial we safeguard ourselves from future health emergencies by requiring health systems and facilities to register health emergency plans,” said Council President Loretta C. Scott, “We must ensure compliance among our health systems, especially in long-term facilities, housing the most vulnerable of our
citizens. Collaboration among all levels of government is necessary as we move forward and stabilize the health of our country.”
