Thursday, January 2, 2020, the City Council will hold its
biennial Swearing-In Ceremony and Organizational Meeting at 3:30pm in the City
Council Chambers at City Hall (30 Church Street, Downtown Rochester).
The District Councilmembers elected this past November will formally take the
Oath of Office at this meeting and will each serve a four-year term.
Members being sworn-in are: LaShay D. Harris – South District, Mary
Lupien – East District, Michael A. Patterson – Northeast District and Jose M. Peo –
Northwest District.
Immediately following the Swearing-In Ceremony is the Council’s
Organizational Meeting that includes the election the Council President and
Vice President, the appointment of the City Clerk, the adoption of the Rules of
Council and the designation of the Official Newspapers for the City.
