• Lawler Introduces Legislation To Provide Tax Relief For Families And Support America's Educators (house.gov) — Families and teachers in Rockland County could see new federal tax breaks under two bills just introduced by Rep. Mike Lawler, whose district includes all or parts of Rockland. One proposal offers a refundable credit for school supplies, while the other boosts the tax deduction for teachers’ out-of-pocket classroom expenses.
   

• Community Foundation names new board chair (timeshudsonvalley.com) — Rockland residents are now represented in the newly expanded Community Foundation of Orange, Sullivan and Rockland, which has created a Rockland County Advisory Committee and merged operations with the county. With a new board chair and four added directors, the foundation plans to deepen relationships with local donors and organizations while continuing to grow its charitable impact across the tri-county region.
   

• Study: one in six Hudson Valley children face food insecurity (timeshudsonvalley.com) — New data show that thousands of Rockland County children are among the 53,390 kids across six Hudson Valley counties who face food insecurity, with rates rising since last year. The Regional Food Bank and local partners report longer pantry lines and a growing “meal gap,” and they’re urging more community support to help families keep food on the table.
