Argument Over Face Mask Turns Aggressive: Rockville Centre Police

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — The Rockville Centre Police Department reported the following incidents for the week ending Aug. 3. All charges are merely accusations.
Harassment
- On July 30 at 11:17 a.m., a North Baldwin resident reported that he was pushed by another person during an argument about wearing a face mask inside a N. Centre Avenue business.
- On Aug. 2 at 2:09 p.m., the manager of a N. Village Avenue business reported that he was threatened by a former employee.
Larceny

- On July 29 at 3:05 p.m., the owner of a N. Park Avenue business reported that money was stolen from the cash register by an employee.
- On Aug. 1 at 6:59 a.m., a S. Park Avenue resident reported that her car was stolen from the parking lot to the rear of her building.
Leaving the Scene
- On Aug. 2 at 9:39 p.m., a driver reported his car was struck by a vehicle that left the scene while parked in Rockville Centre Municipal Parking Field 2A.

- On July 29 at 12:36 a.m., a N. Centre Avenue resident reported that she was the victim of a phone scam in which she electronically sent money to an unknown individual through an online banking service.
- On July 30 at 7:40 p.m., a Seaman Avenue resident reported that she was the victim of a phone scam in which she purchased gift cards and gave the gift card numbers to an unknown individual over the phone.
Arrests
- On July 31 at 11:52 a.m., Jesse Broche, 31, of Grand Avenue, Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment while at his home.
- On Aug. 1 at 3:35 p.m., Thomas Finan, 48, of S. Village Avenue, Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief on S. Village Avenue.
