Business Owner Victim Of Identity Theft: Rockville Centre Police

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — The Rockville Centre Police Department reported the following incidents in the village for the week ending Nov. 2.

Larceny

• On Oct. 26 at 7:36 p.m., a commuter reported his bicycle was stolen from the LIRR station near Front Street while he was at work during the day.
• On Oct. 28 at 12:30 p.m., a resident of 100 Banks Ave. reported his bicycle as stolen from the underground parking garage.
• On Oct. 29 at 10:11 a.m., a Gateway resident reported her pocketbook was stolen from her car while it was parked at the Rec Center.
• On Oct. 29 at 4:23 p.m., a driver reported someone entered his vehicle and removed $10 cash while it was parked in his driveway on Tarence Street.

Unusual Incident

• On Oct. 26 at 10:17 a.m., a N. Village Avenue business owner reported someone used his identity to file a fraudulent claim for unemployment benefits.
• On Oct. 31 at 5:38 p.m., a S. Park Avenue business owner reported someone used his business name on flyers and distributed them on S. Park Avenue without his authorization.

Leaving the Scene

• On Oct. 30 at 6:08 p.m., a Brentwood resident reported that her car was struck and damaged by another vehicle that left the scene while it was parked at Molloy College.
