CBP: Man Smuggled Cocaine into JFK in His Underwear

Incident happened last month, officials said.

A Jamaican man faces smuggling charges after hiding cocaine in his underwear at John F. Kennedy Airport last month, officials said Monday.

On April 16, Romario Lewis arrived at JFK from Kingston, Jamaica and proceeded to inspection, CBP said. Lewis “exhibited numerous signs of nervousness” during his inspection, officials said.

Officers conducted a physical search and found two packages in Lewis’ groin area, Customs said. Inside the packages was a white powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine, officials said.
