Man Accused Of Smashing Store Door On Sunrise Highway: PD

As part of the weekly crime report, the Rockville Centre police said a parked car was involved in a hit and run on North Village Avenue.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY —The weekly crime report from the Rockville Centre police has three incidents from May 25 through 29, including a leaving the scene and one arrest.

  • David Birnbaum, 44, was charged Saturday with third-degree criminal mischief. He's accused of breaking a glass door at a Sunrise Highway store, police said.
  • On May 25, a driver told police that his vehicle was stolen while it sat parked in a North Village lot before 7:30 a.m., detectives said.
  • Also on May 25 and on North Village Avenue, a pharmacy manager reported that someone stole diabetic test strips, police said.
