MTA Police Seeking Help To ID Man Killed By Train Last July

Police have been unable to identify the man, who stepped in front of a train and was killed.

The MTA Police are seeking the public's help to identify a man who was struck and killed by a train at the Baldwin LIRR station last July.

According to the MTA Police, on July 7, 2019, the man rode the escalator up to the Baldwin station platform at 12:30 a.m. At 12:48 a.m., he stepped onto the tracks west of the station's platform, where he was hit and killed by a train.

Police do not suspect any criminality in his death.

Police say the man was between 55 and 75 years old and of east Asian descent. He was bald on top of his head, with gray/brown hair around the sides. He was wearing glasses, a blue "Sky Vodka" T-shirt, North Face khaki cargo pants, a green vest and gray New Balance sneakers. He had no tattoos or other identifiable markings, and had no ID on him.

There were no witnesses to his death other than the train crew. MTA Police say officers have canvassed the area, but found no one who knew the man. There are also no matches to his description with missing persons reports filed with the Nassau County Police Department.
